Western Desert Tour

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a guided tour by Jeep 4×4 to visit Dead Mountain, Siwa House museum, and the old fortress of Shali. Then, you will go to the Oracle temple where you will see the coronation hall of Alexander the Great, the ruins of Amoun temple, swim in the Cleopatra pool, then Dakrour mountain (famous for its hot sand, the best place over for sand bath, used as an effective natural cure for Rheumatism, Rheumatoid ). Overnight camping at Siwa Oasis.

The Great Sand Sea is around 72,000 kilometers, an area longer than Tasmania or Ireland. Essentially, enormous expanses of sand and seas made of processions of dunes aligned to the air stream, either raising the ground level or dipping into escarpments that tend to face south. The dunes respond to the wind, moving at a rate of 20- 100 meters a year. The longest dune in the Great Sand Sea, known as the Abu Mhara Dune, is about 140 kilometers long. We traverse this extraordinary landscape for three days, exploring endlessly undulating curves that create an atmosphere of infinite and unparalleled tranquillity. Proceed to visit Bir Wahid, next to Siwa Oasis, where the hot spring and desert lake provide a pleasant diversion. Overnight in a camp.

For breakfast, move to Abou-Shrouf, the best and cleanest spring. It is sulfured water that is good for the skin and Rheumatism). Later, you will visit Zauton (the old village of Abou-Shrouf) and see the Roman olives oil press and black Roman tomb, then the newly found Roman tombs (full of skeletons). We leave Siwa behind and head towards Bahariya Oasis via a desert track, crossing remote uninhabited desert oases such as Setra, Nueimsa, and al-Arag. We stopped for some photo opportunities along the way. Overnight in a camp.

After breakfast, we will walk and enjoy the old village of the Oasis to see the groves of palms and fruit trees. Then, you will have a tour of the Black Mountains, the dunes, and the salt lake. After that, you visit the Temple of Ain El Muftella, the water source of the old capital of the oasis. Move onto the ruin on the Hill, “The English House.” Then, you drive to the black desert and Crystal Mountain and proceed to the new White Desert for camping and a relaxing overnight stay in camp.

After breakfast, we will complete our tour in the white desert. Then, we will drive to the old acacia tree and Ain Khadra spring. That is the Roman spring. We leave this spring to cross the Small Valley and the Big Valley. After that, you camp at the Old White Desert.

Breakfast, departure to El-Farafra Oasis to visit the water source NO.6 with hot water (35 degrees), the Oasis Garden, and the El-Farafra Museum. Drive back to Bahariya Oasis for an overnight stay in a hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel, check out, and leave for Cairo on a guided tour to visit the Great Pyramids, Sphinx, and Valley Temple, with a last-minute shopping opportunity to the famous bazaars in Khan El Khalili from there drive to Cairo International Airport for your flight back home.
